Acro Yoga is a fusion of yoga, acrobatics, and therapeutics. We will show you the ropes- teaching you the hand grips, a few simple poses, and begin to play with weight shift and transitions between poses… we might even get upside down! Beginners welcome! In fact, beginners encouraged!
Let by Amy Vait and George Kibbe. Saturday August 4th, 3-5pm. $35 for non members, $28 for members. For Non-members, please click here to sign up.
Amy: Growing up dancing and competitive figure skating, Amy has always found her home in various movement modalities. She discovered AcroYoga in 2013 and was instantly addicted, or as she says, “it was love at first flight!” She began exploring various techniques, skills, and movement possibilities within the practice over the last 5 years. She’s attended many advanced workshops in the circus arts: AcroYoga, Icarian foot-juggling, and standing acrobatics. What she loves most about the practice is how multifaceted it is– you learn (verbal and nonverbal) communication like never before, trust, initiation, surrender, collaboration, partnership, and creation.
George: George started practicing yoga regularly in 2008. Since then he has received his 200 hr YTT seeded in a Baptiste style hot vinyasa. His main focus and passion has been Acro-Yoga since 2014. He has completed multiple Acro-yoga immersions programs and trainings, from Arron Lind’s Lift School of Acrobatics, and from Acroyoga.org
. George is constantly continuing his education in Acro with local classes and national events.
