The M. Power foundation that resonates the most with me is Meaningful Connections. Connecting with people is something I aspire to do every day; in doing so aids me in learning more about others but ultimately learning more about myself. The connections you make with others can sometimes bring a whole new experience to your life. New connections can aid you in your personal journey, the journey to Self.
As humans, we naturally are always on a quest to find meaningful connections with others, when ultimately, the most meaningful connection lies within. When this is realized and you can truly feel connected to your inner self, you open up so many more possibilities in cultivating meaningful connections with others. The old saying “you must love yourself before loving anyone else,” is a task we struggle with every day. We need to observe ourselves, we need to accept who we are and who we’re not, and most importantly we need to love ourselves.
Yoga is about connection- connecting your mind, body and breath. We connect these aspects of ourselves to truly see who we are. When you’re able to meaningful connect with yourself, you ultimately leave the door open to meaningfully connect with others. This foundation is one that I live by in and outside the studio. I have M. Power studio to thank for the many connections I have nurtured throughout my time teaching and being a student there. I am so grateful to have connected to my students, my colleagues and most importantly myself.“Healthy plants and trees yield abundant flowers and fruits. Similarly, from a healthy person, smiles and happiness shine forth like the rays of the sun.” ~ B.K. S Iyengar
