When I look back over the past 5 years of my yoga journey, Moxie is the M.Power foundation that stands out the most to me.
I stepped onto my mat for the first time back in 2012, not knowing what to expect and a little nervous. I had no idea the journey I was about to embark upon. All I knew was after my first class, I had never felt so relaxed in my life and I needed to continue learning more. Little by little my practice grew stronger both on and off the mat. I had a greater mind/body connection and awareness and noticed I lived my life more mindfully.
When people say everything happens for a reason, I truly believe that. In 2015 after changing jobs and starting to work in Baltimore, I knew I needed to find a new home studio in the city. I joined M.Power as a student and instantly felt a connection. After a stressful time at work and feeling disconnected, I took an evening class at the studio. When I came out of class, I saw the sign for Yoga Teacher Training and knew that I was meant to enroll. While it seemed a bit impulsive to sign up, the moment truly spoke to me and I knew it was the path I was meant to follow.
To say being a Yoga Teacher has changed my life is an understatement. I left behind my secure corporate job in June 2015 to pursue teaching full-time. This past year has been full of challenges, but it has also been full of amazing moments of living my true passion and sharing it with others. There is nothing else I would rather be doing, and the saying is true, when you love your job, you’ll never work a day in your life!
I strive to bring this same Moxie into my classes everyday, challenging and inspiring students to play their edge both mentally and physically, but to also practice mindfulness to uncover their true self/passions and find peace in the mind and body.
