What led you to become a yoga instructor?
I use to live a VERY intense life. I was a trader at the Chicago Board of Trade and was boxing with a boxing coach three times a week. The repetitive movement of hitting the bags and my opponents lead to over use of my shoulder ligaments. Like over used rubber bands the elasticity in my shoulders were shot. The doctors thought it was the end of my workout career and a double surgery was a part of my future. I used yoga to rehab my shoulders and never needed surgery. I was addicted right from the start.
What yoga posture challenges you the most right now?
Revolved Triangle and any other poses that require hamstring flexibility.
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
I love teaching beginners and I am a stickler for good alignment.
Where would you most like to travel, and why?
Hmmm I have traveled a lot in my life Africa, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Hong Kong, Japan, most of Europe and Scandinavia, and many islands. I ‘d love to go to South America, Greece and Egypt.
Outside of teaching, what do you like to do for fun?
I love the outdoor and spend a lot of time hiking, kayaking, skiing and snowboarding.
