What led you to become a yoga instructor?

I first got into a consistent yoga practice when I was looking for something to compliment the running and lifting I was doing on a daily basis. From my first class I was hooked. I found more of a connection with my mind and body then in anything else I was partaking in. After a few months of growing my own practice I wanted to take it further and learn more and be able to share my love of yoga and what it brought to my life with others.

What yoga posture challenges you the most right now?

I have a love-hate relationship with hip openers currently. Half pigeon is one of those poses that challenges me to stay connected to my breath and quiet any mind chatter that may come up for me.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?

I love everything about teaching yoga. From the excitement I get before class, to changing up my playlists, and trying to weave together a seamless flow of postures that challenges the mind and body. I love being able to connect and relate to my students and give back to them the clarity yoga brings to my life on and off my mat.

Where would you most like to travel, and why?

Oahu, Hawaii is my number 1 right now! I am a beach girl at heart and have wanted to explore Oahu for very long now. I want to do any and everything while I am there.  I have a few friends that moved there that I would love to visit also.

Outside of teaching, what do you like to do for fun?

Outside of teaching, I enjoy working out around Charm City and spending time with family and close friends. I am a big foodie so you can find me at lots of food spots around Baltimore.

What is one thing about you that most people don’t know?

I was a gymnast growing up. It got very competitive and I had to choose between soccer, lacrosse, and basketball or gymnastics. I chose to stick with my field sports. I eventually lost my ability to do full splits but didn’t lose my handstands!
